Purpose
The invention is a deployable step for receiver hitches. It secures to the underside portion of the hitch frame and will accommodate up to four hundred pounds. When not in use, it slides beneath the hitch frame and remains safely out of the way. No longer does it have to be removed when pulling a trailer.

Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Kraig McCready of Renton, WA has created a deployable step for receiver hitches.
With a new Sprinter van, Kraig wanted a trailer hitch and a step, but you could not have both from the manufacturer. He then decided to buy a receiver insert step. However, it was too small and too high of a step. What he really wanted was a full width and depth step that would move out of the way easily when he wants to tow. With nothing on the market to fulfill this need, Kraig was inspired to develop the Best Van Step!
The step secures to the underside portion of the hitch frame. It will be a must have for vehicles with high load floors and will hold up to 400 lbs. When not in use, it slides beneath the hitch frame and remains safely out of the way. No longer does it have to be removed when pulling a trailer.
